Hello and welcome to the "Kids Art Loft."
Art is super important for kids and sometimes you don't know how to start an art lesson.
You want an art project they will enjoy, but don't know how to make one or what supplies to use.
This is where I come in. I make it fun and educational.
I will be teaching an art lesson each week.
Here's a breakdown:
Each month, your child will learn about one famous artist. They will learn about their life and their works as an artist. They will have an art project to do that will reflect the artist and their works.
What we also do at the "Kids Art Loft" is we do a different art lesson each week.
Your child will be given a lesson and then do an instructed art project with me.
In addition to the four art lessons each month, you will also get a PDF with the lesson and a complete list of all the supplies you'll need.

About Me
Hi, my name is Elizabeth. I am a certified school teacher, and I also have an art studio. When I first started teaching, I did not teach art. The art job just fell into my lap.
One day, the school principal said they needed an art teacher and asked me if I would be interested. Of course, my answer was YES! My dream job was to do art all day. What more could I ask for?
When I started teaching art, I was in a storage room area. There was no sink, no finished walls, just some tables and chairs. If you know anything about art teachers, we will make it work. It's not about where you are; it's about what you create.
To me, Art is about the joy it gives kids. When they finish a piece of art they have been working on and see how happy they are about it, it brings me so much joy.
Art is such an important tool for them because it is a way that they can express themselves. It's a time when they don't have to follow the rules. They can let their imagination run free.
Kids will put a spin on a piece of art that maybe you or I would have never thought of. That is why I think every child needs art in their life.
This is when I realized that homeschooled needed art lessons too, so I started providing lessons for them at my art studio. The parents were so excited to bring their children there, but I began to notice a problem. No matter what day or time I scheduled the lessons, not everyone could make it.
I started thinking what if I could bring the lessons to them right into their homes? They could do it on their schedule, not mine. It doesn't matter if you have a specific space to do art. It's just about getting creative. There is more to teaching art than just drawing on a piece of paper. You need a lesson to go with it. You need an art project. This is how the "KIDS ART LOFT" came to be.
I know what kids like because I teach art at school and have an art studio where I host kids' parties and summer art camps.

Sometimes, all kids need is a little instruction, and then you will see them soar in their creativity.

We will learn about the history of the artist and look at their art work for inspiration.

Oils, Chalk Pastels, Watercolors & More
We will be using watercolors in our art lessons as one of the mediums to be used.
We also use chalk pastels in our drawings. This is a fun medium to use when you want more details and shading in an art project.
We will also be using oil pastels which are different than your chalk pastels. They have a different texture and can create some dramatic artwork.
We will also be using our markers, colored pencils and crayons in many of our art projects.
You will be learning how to blend paint, chalk pastels and oil pastels.
